Coming soon! The Youngplace Hallway Galleries warmly welcomes f8 Photography with their upcoming exhibition “Minimalism” to the 2nd Floor Hallway Galleries from November 7th-21st. Read more below!

Photographic understatement is the order of the day in this exhibit with maximum attention on the main subject of these works. See how each f8 artist brings a Minimalist approach to their unique subject matter and ponder the visual impact achieved.”

About f8 Photography:

“f8 Photography Collective (‘f8’) celebrates 17 years of creating contemporary photography, with this year’s 2nd exhibit at Youngplace, 180 Shaw Street, Toronto, Nov 6 to 21, 2025.

f8 is an artistic collective that consistently challenges and supports each member to produce and exhibit high-quality photography. Vision: to be acknowledged by artists, art lovers, and critics as creators of must-see photography.

Artists are: Maureen Littlewood, Catherine MacKinnon, Rod Trider, John Wallace, Lily Markovic, Anthony Schatzky, Selby Shanly & Natalia Shields.

The Hallway Galleries is proud to display “Flight or Float”, an exhibition by artist Anna Lefsrud from October 18th-30th!

Flight or Float explores a range of creatures in motion, using miniature configurations, different settings and everyday materials.

“Rarely do we consider that beyond our acknowledged 5 senses, all beings have the sense of balance, acutely attuned to our environment and movement. Birds for instance, are a dynamic moving point in space, as dependent on gravity as on air for flight , and able to perform their acrobatics with amazing skill and accuracy. Movement and gravity are pervasive themes in my work. Our sense of equilibrium anchors and guides us, is our internal plumb line, whether we are flying, climbing uneven terrain, float ing or balancing delicately on a point. It also guides all animals and birds while travelling together, evidence of more common knowledge that is universally, instinctively adhered to. Flight or Float explores a range of creatures in motion, using miniature configurations, different settings and everyday materials.” -Anna Lefsrud

YOUNGPLACE HOLIDAY ART FAIR

Calling all artists, and creatives! Apply now for the Youngplace Holiday Art Fair, happening December 6th 11AM – 5PM, with exhibition extension from December 7th-18th, at Youngplace, 180 Shaw Street, Toronto.

The fair is back with a holiday twist, featuring a special 2 week exhibition extension in December. Celebrate the holiday season by showcasing your work as we host fun themed activations!

The Youngplace Art Fair aims to support local talent within our diverse communities, in the art market meets gallery exhibition! If you’re an artist, creator, or maker, we encourage you to participate! Come set up alongside other local exhibitors and take part! This is a one-of-a-kind market meets exhibition opportunity to sell work, network, and grow your audience during at a special arts focused community and cultural hub in Toronto.

SUBMISSION PROCESS
The Youngplace Art Fair is looking for artists and makers exhibit primarily 2D and 3D artwork. Applications and artwork will be reviewed and selected applicants will be contacted with next steps.

The Youngplace Art Fair application should include:

Full contact information

Artist statement – 100 words or less

Artist biography – 100 words or less

CV (Please indicate if you have previous market, exhibition, curatorial or retail vending experience here)

Five to ten images of recent work that are representative of work to be exhibited in the show.

Images and/or plan of gallery space design or examples of past booths or exhibitions.

Applications will be assessed based on the following requirements and metrics:

Applicants must present original artwork, exhibiting a majority originals when paired with limited run print or other reproductions.

Artists must exhibit and vend their own work, resale of work made by others is not prohibited.

Work must be complete, presented professionally and with a clear and feasible booth/gallery plan.

Artists should demonstrate a commitment to professionalism, and ability to exhibit work in a gallery context.

Artwork must be family friendly in nature, and not contain overt nudity, graphic or violent imagery.
Applications will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis considering eligibility requirements above, please note wall space is limited.

Youngplace encourages applications from those that represent the full diversity of communities in Canada, including complexities of intersecting identities such as ability, class, gender, race, and sexual orientation. SHOWCASING & SELLING YOUR WORK
Exhibitors must showcase and sell work from the media category indicated in their applications and represented by the supporting images provided with the application. Please note that if you would like to showcase or sell work from another media category, it must be submitted for review by the selection committee. You are not permitted to display or sell work of other artist(s) or any other products that are not your original creations.

BOOTH SPACES
Gallery spaces located in the Hallway Galleries will be assigned based on the applicants ranking of spaces. A maximum of 35 exhibition spaces will be available. There are limited quantities of all booth sizes, we will do our best to assign your first ranked option. These prices reflect a subtotal for the day market event and extended exhibition.

4’ Gallery Space (4 linear feet of wall, with or without a table)

Space fee $200.00

6’ Gallery Space (6 linear feet of wall, with or without a table)

Space fee $240.00

8’ Gallery Space (8 linear feet of wall, with or without a table)

Space fee $ 280.00

Tables can be provided for a fee of $25.00. This fee covers your provided table and black table linen. Please see reference images of gallery space with tables for context. (NOTE: Tables are not required.)
