We asked Joshua Bonnici, General Manager of Sweet Action Theatre. about the show and their work with artists of all ages.

ArtHubs Interviewer: Please describe your business and the artist practices you teach.

Sweet Action Theatre:
Sweet Action Theatre Company is Toronto’s home for the ridiculous. We are a registered non-profit with a focus on clown performance, as well as adjacent theatrical work including bouffon and improv. We started as a space where international master teachers could train students in the many styles of clown, and we've since grown into a community of artists devising work that's both hilarious and vulnerable. These creations have been showcased and won awards in international festivals such as Orlando Fringe, Cincinnati Fringe, Edmonton Fringe, and Edinburgh Fringe.

AH: Describe a current project you are excited about!

SAT: Our exhibit for Nuit Blanche, Sweet Action Theatre Presents: One Nuit Only includes 10 1-hour-long comedic shows. These theatrical works have won awards and received glowing reviews at international festivals in Canada, U.S.A, and Scotland. Don’t miss a truly unique experience that can only be seen on this special night.

Attendees will be able to enter in 5-minute intervals. Attendees can leave at any point, and they can also choose to stay for however long they wish. If they leave they can queue again to enter during the next 5-minute interval, subject to capacity limitations.

While waiting in queue, enjoy a live-feed of the performance action in the theatre, and/or view information on the history of the theatre and the nature of their work.
